Grupo Vandativista

Občan K. / Citizen K. / Der Bürger K. from Občan K. on Vimeo.
Prague – Czech art pranksters, whose Ztohoven art collective gained international notoriety for implanting images of a fictional atomic blast on live television, face legal action for their latest prank.
Police on Friday launched an investigation into the group’s latest project, during which 12 guerrilla artists lived for months under each other’s identity.
The action aimed to draw the attention to the omnipresent Big-Brother-like control of the public by authorities.
The artists applied for new identity cards with computer-altered photographs that combined features of two members of the group – the man who would use the card and the man in whose name it was issued.
A video on their web site shows that they used the fake identity to get married, travel abroad and even vote in the Czech Republic’s May 28-29 general election.

Jardin Solar teaser from Dream Addictive on Vimeo.
JardínSolar - SolarGarden — by Dream Addictive — is a series of sculptures that explore the field of sound interaction, using renewable energy as supply source. The intention is to integrate open source hardware and software, and solar cells as energy source, proposing a series of prototypes that generate audio and relational interfaces.
The creatures in the “solar garden” are entities of light. They feed themselves from electrons, process their energy and translate it into electronic songs. They are sociable and sensible machines, they like public space, where they can call people and invite them to play actively with established chance and ethereal frequencies of electronic sound. The sculptures are made of wood, acrylic and plastic, their aesthetics are some times mimetic and some other times are imposed on landscape, decomposing space at a visual and sound level.

Since 2005, cities across the globe have been participating in PARK(ing) Day, an annual event that transforms metered parking spaces into mini parks/lounge areas. Started in 2005 by the art collective REBAR in San Francisco as a celebration of parks and open space, PARK(ing) Day is now an international one-day event that includes thousands of people in at least eight countries. This was the first year groups from Philadelphia participated, taking over 30 parking spaces in cooperation with the Philadelphia Parking Authority.

The book represents a first tentative reconstruction of the history of artistic networking in Italy, through an analysis of the realities which during the past twenty years have given way to a creative, shared and aware use of technologies, from video to computers, contributing to the formation of Italian hacker communities.
Written by Tatiana Bazzichelli, with the preface of Derrick De Kerckhove and the epilogue of the videoartist Simonetta Fadda.
Translated by Helen Pringle and Maria Anna Calamia.

ovviamente.
